Product Lead
Who is Kamma?
Kamma is a fast-growing Data and SaaS company on a mission to make the UK property market smarter, greener, and more compliant.
We turn complex geospatial, regulatory, and climate data into intuitive tools used by letting agents, landlords, mortgage lenders, and asset managers. Our platform removes the guesswork from local property licensing, unlocks climate risk insights, and helps users make faster, smarter decisions about property investments.
We’re the team behind the UK’s only national property licensing engine and have contributed data to government climate planning at scale. Customers use Kamma to onboard portfolios faster, reduce compliance risk, help homeowners retrofit their properties, and businesses to plan net zero strategies—with clarity they can act on.
We’re backed by leading VCs, growing fast, and building products that tackle the highest impact pain points in the housing market.
We are on an ambitious growth journey and looking for passionate individuals to join our mission. Kamma is a hybrid company, offering flexibility with a 24/7 central London office available to use. While much of this role can be done remotely, we expect team members to be in the office weekly to foster collaboration and team spirit. During onboarding, there will likely be additional in person time required to get up to speed ASAP. Additionally, the role will require travel to meet with customers or attend industry events as needed.
What is the role?
We’re looking for a Product Development Lead to help shape the future of our platform. You’ll drive discovery, set product direction and work hands-on with the team to build products that customers love, which are critical to us achieving our ambitious growth targets. You won’t just hand over specs - you’ll be deep in the details with engineers, solving problems together and pushing for high-quality delivery. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role - we want someone who’s entrepreneurial, hustles to get things done and knows how to use GenAI to supercharge discovery, development, and decision-making.
What you’ll be doing:
- Product lifecycle: Lead the full product lifecycle - setting direction, testing ideas early, iterating fast. Make sure what we build solves real customer problems and grows the business.
- Customer discovery: Champion a culture of discovery. Spend real time with customers, gather insights, and guide teams to build what matters - not just what’s asked for.
- Customer experience: Own the full customer journey. Identify opportunities to remove friction, deepen engagement, and deliver faster value. Growth follows when we get this right.
- Data-led decision making: Make decisions grounded in data, not opinion. Balance customer feedback, product analytics, and market signals to stay sharp and focused.
- Product requirements: Shape messy business problems into clear product narratives, user stories, and priorities that the team can execute against without ambiguity.
- Support backlog management & prioritisation: Support the engineering team to prioritise hard and well. Make smart trade-offs between short-term wins and long-term bets. Keep the team aligned and moving fast.
- Product development: Lead a cross-functional team (engineering, data, commercial) through discovery, build, and launch. Create momentum, not bottlenecks.
- Gen AI: Drive the adoption of Gen AI tools across the product process. Move faster, think bigger, work smarter by embedding AI into how we discover, analyse, design, test and build.
- Go to market: Launch early, launch often. Work closely with marketing, sales, and customer teams to iterate fast based on real-world feedback.
- Success metrics: Define what success looks like and keep a relentless focus on delivering it. Set ambitious KPIs and create the conditions for the team to hit them.
You should apply if you:
Proven Experience
- Product leadership: You have experience owning and scaling digital products, from messy beginnings to mature, high-performing platforms.
- Discovery expertise: You’re fluent in customer discovery and build what people need, not just what they ask for.
- Modern methodologies: You're comfortable with lean, agile, JTBD—and know when to follow the book and when to adapt it to reality.
- Entrepreneurial drive: You’re proactive, resilient, and thrive on ownership.
A Discovery and Execution Mindset
- Test-and-learn mindset: You value rapid experimentation and evidence-based iteration. You design meaningful tests, validate assumptions with real users, and use results to shape what gets built (and what doesn’t)
- Execution focus: You drive clarity, focus, and action, even when things are complex and fast-moving.
- Gen AI savvy: You embed GenAI into how you discover, analyse, test, and build.
- Commercially minded: You understand how products drive revenue, retention, and profitability - and how your work impacts the bigger picture.
- Data-driven: You make sense of complexity and unlock insights. Experience in data-driven products is an advantage but not essential.
- Opportunistic: You spot opportunities beyond the roadmap—whether it’s testing a high-potential idea, shaping a new commercial proposition, or fostering a strategic partnership. You think laterally, act decisively, and create value others miss.
Excellent Collaboration and Communication
- Cross-functional leadership: You work well across engineering, commercial, and data. You speak their languages and know how to bring them together.
- Clear communicator: You can explain tough decisions, inspire action, and keep everyone aligned without drowning people in jargon.
- Strategic and tactical: You can think big and act small. You know when to zoom out to strategy and when to dive into the detail.
- Domain expertise: You’re fast at getting up to speed on new markets, new customers, new opportunities and turning insight into action.
This role isn't for you if:
- You’re looking for a rigid playbook to follow. You’ll help write the next chapter.
- You’re uncomfortable with change or fast decisions. Priorities shift - that’s part of the fun.
- You think product management is just managing Jira boards. We obsess over customers and write high-quality tickets.
- You’re not excited by Gen AI. We’re betting heavily on it, and you should be too.
- You need lots of handholding. We expect leaders to lead.
- You avoid tough conversations. Product leadership means making trade-offs and driving alignment, not avoiding friction.
- You prefer to stay hands-off with customers. You’ll need to live in the data, discovery calls, and user feedback loops.
How we work:
- Focus on high-leverage work
- Build with and for users
- Test, learn, and optimise continuously
- Think boldly and act pragmatically
What do we offer?
- 💰 Competitive salary based on experience
- 🎄 Extra time off: The office closes over the Christmas period, in addition to your holiday allowance, which increases with tenure. Plus, enjoy 2 additional charity days for causes you believe in.
- 🏢 Hybrid work and great office: Flexible work-from-home options or access to our Central London office on the Strand, complete with gym facilities, showers, and communal spaces.
- 🎁 Great benefits: Pension scheme, health insurance, cycle-to-work scheme, book allowance, home office budget, and more.
- 🌍 An ambitious, passionate team: Join a group dedicated to making a positive impact in the property sector.
